KCRW Presents: The Belle Brigade

I was instantly enthralled when someone dropped by KCRW early this year with a CD from a little-known L.A. band called The Belle Brigade, led by siblings Barbara and Ethan Gruska. The songs were exhilarating — tight, catchy folk-pop gems that referenced the likes of Paul Simon and Fleetwood Mac.

I instantly gravitated toward it, and in April, The Belle Brigade played live on Morning Becomes Eclectic the day of its album release. This performance captures a rising band whose charisma is sure to win over audiences far beyond L.A.
